For state agencies and state representatives
Request a review of your state's data
Please read this page first. It explains where our numbers come from, what we can change, and what happens after you write to us.
How we build each report card
State of Support uses public data only. We pull every available public source for every state: national data sets such as RISP, State of the States, CMS, National Core Indicators, ThinkWork, KFF, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Department of Labor, and the Census Bureau, plus what state agencies publish themselves. Every source is listed, with links, on our Sources page.
Not every state publishes the same information. Some states share a great deal. Others publish very little, or publish it late. When public data is missing or out of date, a report card can show a gap that says more about what is published than about the services people receive.
We want to get it right
If we got something wrong, or we are missing information, we want to make that right. We would love to load your information into our database.
Please know that new or corrected data may change your state's report card, and that can move a grade up or down. We apply the same ConnectIDD Standard to every state. We correct the data. We do not change the standard to change a grade.
What helps us most
- The measure or section you are writing about, such as waiting lists, direct support pay, or employment
- The correct figure, the year it covers, and who published it
- A link to the source, or a note that you can send a document
What happens next
- A person on the ConnectIDD team reads every request.
- We may contact you to ask questions or to get a copy of the source.
- If the information checks out, we load it into our database, rerun the grades, and note the change on the report card.
- We let you know what we changed, or why we could not use it.
